Boxing Heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua has revealed his camp is in talks with undefeated WBC Heavyweight champion for a possible fight later this year.
Wilder alongside Fury remains the only top heavyweight fighter that is undefeated, and a clash between Wilder and Joshua or Joshua and Fury will be mouthwatering especially as Fury will be fighting Wilder next month.
Joshua could fight at Tottenham’s new stadium in March or April. The IBF have ordered the Nigerian fighter to defend against Pulev, while the WBO want him to face Usyk, and an agreement is yet to be reached on which one of those two will be his next opponent. but Joshua says he wants to fight Wilder later this year and will like a Fury win against Wilder so they could fight in Tottenham’s stadium.
He added on Wednesday: “The one that I don’t fight, I will fight eventually.
“In the heavyweight division everyone is welcome to challenge so even if it doesn’t happen first time, one of them will fight me in the future. We will end up fighting anyway.”
“I heard [Wilder and Fury] have a third fight lined up towards the end of the year but we have to throw a curveball in there.
“Something that gets Wilder’s attention providing he wins so that he thinks to himself: ‘even though I have a rematch clause, I’ll see how I can manipulate my contract, get out of it, and fight for the undisputed championship’.”
He said: “The doors are open. I’m wishing him (Fury) well in February. Imagine having that fight, at Tottenham? That would be phenomenal.
“I’m supporting Fury [against Wilder] because imagine the local kids being able to watch the undisputed championship fight on their doorstep. I’d love it to be here in the UK.”
Asked about the prospect of fighting at Tottenham’s state-of-the-art 62,000 capacity the 30-year-old responded: “Why not. A great opportunity.
“To have the opportunity to go to Tottenham is a blessing. If Tottenham is open, then Tottenham it is.”
